She sat down with a brush in her hand
But not to clean her teeth
No, to paint a picture of a man on the sand
On an island on a coral reef
While her mind was thinking and the brush improving
On the picture which began to emerge
A young man and woman were dancing and moving
While the waves on the sand did surge
Painter (I'm going to paint my love)
Painter (She's going to love my paint)
Painter (She's going to paint me her love)
Painter (I'm going to paint her)
Painting
We sat down on the reef, on the sand
We didn't wear shoes on our feet
She pulled me towards her with an outstretched hand
And soon our love was complete
While my mind was racing and the dolphins were diving
On the canvas that had once been a mess
Were a couple by the water twisting and jiving
A picture of happiness
Painter (I'm going to paint my love)
Painter (She's going to love my paint)
Painter (She's going to paint me her love)
Painter (I'm going to paint her)
Painting
Once I nearly drowned
By luck, though, I was found
She pulled me back to ground
Now we're both safe and sound
Now the painting is finished we're together for life
On the coral reef by the sea
And there we were wed, we became man and wife
In the painting, the painter and me
